Launch Crew Emergency Egress System

Ride Centerline Teamed with RS&H to Provide the Solution to NASA

Ares I was part of the NASA Constellation program as a manned flight replacement for the Space Shuttle.

All NASA manned launched systems include an Emergency Egress System (EES) to quickly evacuate crew away from the launch vehicle in an emergency.

The preferred ARES I solution was a one directional track with multiple carts to transport multiple crew and support personnel to a safety bunker.

Ride Centerline was responsible for the entire EES design, including the track, structure, vehicles, launch, braking and retrieval systems.
Although the design was successfully completed, the ARES I/Constellation program was cancelled prior to build.
